Greetings !!!
Up for auction is this fully acclimated rooted cutting of De Tres Esplets. It's from the collection of our friend Monserrat Pons in Spain. Its a delicious early fig. I love this fig and I feel like it's in a class all its own. Mainly, I say this because, I think this is a great fig for northern growers. The reason for this praise comes from the fact that very few figs for me ripen all their figs in Michigan. De Tres Esplets does! For example, a Preto will ripen 20-40% of their figs, but when the frosts come in late October, you're left with quite a few green figs left. De Tres Esplets ripens ALL of its figs and gives you a few early Breba figs as well. If you are new to figs and live int he north, this is the fig for you! It's a great variety and I think everyone should grow it.
Join me here every Sunday evening from 8 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. for the ending of my auctions! However, this one will end on Memorial Day!!!
The starting bid on this variety is the "Reserve" and I believe it to be a more than fair price based on demand and this years recent sales. Buy it now disappears with the first bid.
You will receive the exact plant that is photographed. This one is grown in a 3"x 8" Stuewe & Sons Tree-pot along with a professional growing mix. These pots make shipping and growing cuttings a breeze and are easy to transplant. It should have a very nice root system and should rebound from transplanting easily. Once transplanted, I think it’s always a good idea to place the newly planted tree in a shadier location for a week just to make sure it can recover adequately in its new environment. This is especially true when replanting in a southern location or when the temperatures are above 80. The Heat and sun intensity can be quite different in Texas for example compared to Michigan.
Some notes on Shipping:
My growing operation has been inspected by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. I'm licensed to ship to ALL US states. However, I will not ship to Hawaii, Alaska, or Puerto Rico. Sellers selling plants with the comments "Buyers are responsible for knowing their states laws on importing live plants." do so irresponsibly. There are many new sellers entering in the fig market lately. I think it's great for the hobby, but sellers that are not properly inspected should be avoided.
I will ship Tuesday-Friday purchases on Saturday and Saturday-Monday purchases on Monday/Tuesday (in case of a holiday, this may change slightly). The faster your invoice is paid, the faster I can get your plants out. Please make sure your Figbid and Paypal shipping address is current and accurate. Combined shipping is available automatically upon invoice with multiple auctions being won or purchased through FigBid within the same week. Figbid combines these automatically, so it's best to wait and pay after all of the auctions you're bidding on for that week are complete, otherwise you will be charged the full shipping charge with each invoice. I always prefer USPS, but boxes over 22" cost quite a bit more to ship. I reserve the right to use UPS or Fedex if plants go over the 22" mark. Please reach out to me beforehand if there is an issue with that.
Thank you for your support and happy figging!!!!!
