Description

Calderona de Miner is a very rare cultivar, grown from the collection of fig connoisseur, Montserrat Pons.  It is different from Calderona with a thinner skin and slightly longer ripening.  I’m only aware of a couple other trees of this variety being grown in the US. Calderona de Miner is large fig with a beautiful, green and purple skin covered with white speckles.   The inside is a rich, syrupy, strong flavored flesh with almost no cavity.  It has a sweet flavor with a spectacular aftertaste.  It was one of my tastiest figs last year and ripened even in my cooler PA fall weather.

Calderona de Miner is a very productive cultivar, which will provide you an abundant harvest for fresh figs and jams.  It has been a quick grower for me in potted containers in zone 6. Calderona de Miner does not need pollination.

This bid is for my established Calderona de Miner fig tree.  The actual tree is shown in the pictures. This tree started as a rooted cutting from my mother tree. I have been growing this at my Father’s house in Florida.

I am PA Figs on YouTube and you can see a video of this fig variety and its fruit at: https://youtu.be/nrX6wgH5IoY

While this plant shows no signs of FMV, I assume that all of my trees have been exposed to FMV.

Please acclimate this tree in part sun for a week after shipping and then it should be ready to be up-potted.

The three tree pictures shown are the actual tree you will be getting.  The three fruit pictures are from fruit on my mother tree last season.

Shipping is set to $25, Priority USPS for this rare fig tree.

No shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or international.

Good luck and thanks for viewing!
