You are purchasing a single handmade and laser engraved cutting board as depicted in the pictures in this posting.

Description:

A unique black cherry charcuterie/cutting board in a Fig motif for the fig enthusiast in us that makes a distinctive presentation and serving platform for your treasured figs or other food. These cutting boards make great holiday and/or special occasion gifts.

The boards are laser engraved with a fig leaf design in alternating corners and then tastefully engraved with some of the most popular fig variety names as a border surrounding the perimeter. The engraved fig varieties consist of:

• Smith
• Socorro Black
• Black Madeira
• White Madeira #1
• Ronde de Bordeaux
• Peter’s Honey
• Pastiliere
• I-258
• RLBV

The rear portion of each board is left unengraved allowing for both an attractive mar free presentation surface and a true cutting surface (rear). On custom orders, a special message of your design can be added to the cutting board’s back for an additional small fee.

Each board is hand crafted with sustainable black cherry known for its rich honey colored heart wood that further develops a rich patina with age and includes the occasional attractive dark pith that enhances the character of the wood. In addition, each board is hand-rubbed to a rich luster with a FDA certified food safe finish.

The cutting board’s approximate dimensions are 14 ½ inches in width, a height of 8 inches with a thickness of ¾ of an inch.

It should be noted that no two pieces of black cherry are the same and will have varying grain pattern and color from board to board. Given this, there are several different postings on figbid.com depicting the specific grain of each cutting board.

About the craftsman/seller:

I am a hobbyist woodworker that enjoys utilizing hand tools and beautiful American hardwoods to craft furniture, cabinetry and accessories such as cutting boards. Given my recent interest in the fig hobby, starting in 2021, I am currently nurturing approximately 36-37 fig trees of my own in New Jersey and learning the nuances of growing figs and protecting them from local wildlife.  

As an active participant of ourfigs.com, AnthonyT, and I fashioned a cutting board for myself to show some of the figs that I was able to harvest this year. Some of the above forum members suggested that I should make these cutting boards available on the FigBid platform.
