Description
I am a huge fan of all the Col de Dame figs and consider at least one type of CdD a must have in your collection. My two favorites are Noir (also available on FigBid) and Blanc (Baud). Just look at the pictures and you can see why they are grown commercially. Fig jammy to the extreme. Although not as sweet as other varieties, Col de Dame Blanc (Baud) is absolutely delicious. Lots of rich berry tones and just a beautiful fig to look at. Tip top green fig in my opinion.
This is the strain that originated from Baud Nursery in France and is not all sickly a slow growing like most of the Col de Dame Blancs that you will see in the USA. My tree shows no signs of Fig Mosaic Virus and is a robust, healthy grower that grows at least 6 feet a year. It is very vigorous See pictures. The result is more figs!
