All my figs are container grown in Wisconsin. Cuttings were taken in late November after trees had gone dormant and have been stored in a fridge at 37-40 degrees. You are bidding on 2 dormant, unrooted cuttings of LSU DC2.
LSU DC2 is an unofficial LSU release. One of five varieties planted at Burden Center in Baton Rouge that were never released to the public, but were save by Dr. Johnson before the greenhouse was demolished.
The DC stands for "dead cat" because when Dr. Johnson’s staff was taking cuttings, a dead cat was found in the green house.
Early ripening yellow fruit with brown tinge. Mild sweet flavor, productive.

I’ve been growing and trialing figs in southwestern Wisconsin for 30 years. My focus was on container figs which will ripen in Wisconsin without a greenhouse, but now that I have an unheated hoophouse & I’ve been putting many varieties in the ground.
I run a Facebook group called NORTHERN FIG GROWERS which has 13K members. I also sell cuttings of currants, grapes, elderberries, willows, kiwis and scionwood of pears and mulberries.
