Description
(TP-FG-0004) Yolo-Bypass
The mother tree was discovered near Sacramento in Summer 2017. The tree grows in the wild in an isolated area with no other fig trees nearby. The figs from the tree are of superior quality that tastes like sweet intense berry jam. It also stores well in the refrigerator (more than 10 days). Furthermore, the figs ripen on the counter or the refrigirator if they are picked before ideal ripeness. I did not notice any breba on the tree and the main crop is produced in August and September. I have tasted more than 400 varieties so far and this Yolo-Bypass fig is in the top 5 for me.
As announced by ourfig members, Yolo Bypass is confirmed as a common variety. So, the wasps are not needed to produce fruit but the quality and size of the figs will be better if wasps are active in your area.
You will receive a tree that was started from a cutting in early September 2022 (See first photo as a sample).
Shipping is free and within the US only. The tree will be shipped in USPS Priority Mail with its soil in a one-gallon pot. Once the USPS shipping label is created, the tracking number will be automatically added to your PayPal transaction.
