Description

Up for auction is an Air Layer of an Unknown Pastiliere Tree. It's about 18 inches tall and has grown a lot since I planted it on April 23. Unknown Pastiliere is one of my favorite varieties that produces a dark purple fig that's super dark red on the inside. It's a super sweet, jammy, and fruity fig similar to eating fig jam straight out of the jar. It has an intense cherry flavor, very different from any other fig. Unknown Pastiliere figs are a Symrna type that requires pollination by the fig wasp or by hand pollination. Southern California has fig wasps which are beneficial for pollination. Unknown Pastiliere trees are very vigorous, one of my earliest, and most productive trees. It is a must-have for any fig collector. Air Layered from my mother tree on April 23, 2023, outside in moderate winter sunlight in Southern California. I obtained the mother tree from Pam at Back Bay Buddies Nursery who obtained it from Harvey at Figaholics. This tree is growing in a 3 Gallon container.

Local pick-up only in Garden Grove, CA

I am a licensed and inspected nursery. Buy with confidence.

I'm Nick, I started my fig-growing journey in 2022 and began collecting cuttings from respected members of the fig community. I have had a green thumb from an early age from gardening and studying Horticulture. Born and raised in Southern California, I grew up gardening with my family.

The tree may have FMV but it is very healthy and barely shows any signs of it.
