The fruit from this tree bears a beautiful deep red interior. The flavor develops from a strawberry undertones when just maturing, to a tangy raspberry when fully ripened. The texture is such that it could easily be spread as jam directly from the fruit. When cooked, the jam has no need for added sugar. It blends to a lightly sweet berry.

Dries well on the tree. As fig ripens and starts to dehydrate you can taste background notes of cinnamon, bergamont and perilla.
