These trees have been grown with completely organic practices.

Black-Jack fig trees are easy to grow, reliable and heavy fruiting with a dark purple fig that has a wonderful, sweet flavor. I grow these in my own yard too, and it is very productive and produces delicious figs throughout the end of the summer and it performs well in the South. I picked my last fig at the end of October.

Black-Jack is cold hardy and I have been impressed with how quickly this tree grows to become established and fruit. It handles the fluctuating weather, such as very hot summers, rain, humidity and winter cold very well.

Of course, the fruit quality improves as the tree ages, but this is a solid addition to any edible landscaping or fig collection. They are delicious fresh, dried and make wonderful preserves.

PLEASE NOTE:  You will be shipped 3 cuttings with the ends wrapped in parafilm. In my experience these have been easy to root but I cannot guarantee your results.

Site requirements: Full to mostly sunny location. Figs will grow in a range of soil types provided the planting location is well drained. Protected locations, such as on the South, East or West side of a building is ideal.

Size at maturity: 8-12′, depending on location, climate and care.

Pollination: This fig requires no pollination to set fruit.

Resistance: Figs are known for remarkable disease and insect resistance and sometimes ants can get interested in figs so be sure to keep the tree picked well. Figs will continue to put on new fruit until frost.

No international shipping. Ships in USA only.
