This listing is for a packet of 10 Little Elf Hot Pepper seeds.  Non-genetically modified seed.  These are our extra seeds for this season.  We buy in small bulk lots, use what's needed for family, friends, and small co-ops, then sell the remainder at a substantial discount for growers.  All seed lots have been tested for viability.  This variety has been trialed from several sources to ensure the selection of the best strain.  All extra seeds are professionally packaged and labeled.  FREE USPS First Class shipping anywhere in the US.

Little Elf is a pequin-type that reminds us of Twilight.  Grown as an ornamental (probably because it's so prolific and colorful) but has a wonderful culinary value.  Little Elf is a Hungarian heirloom variety.  Bushy, dark green leaves contrast with heaps of small, teardrop sized peppers that begin as green, then yellow tinged with purple, turning orange, and finally red.  Tiny fruit is no bigger than 1/2 to 3/4 inch long and appears in clusters, with all colors and stages of growth on the plant at the same time.  Compact and bushy.  Plants grow 16-18 inches tall and wide and are perfect for containers. 20,000 to 30,000 Scoville heat units.  85 days to maturity.  Open-pollinated.

Sow seeds indoors, 1/4" deep, in a warm location.  14-28 days to germinate.  Transplant to fertile soil in containers or hedge 20" apart, at least 3' between rows, in areas with full sun in the spring.

We never 'pass the savings' of expensive shipping charges to the customer and always ship as economically as possible.  Sometimes this becomes a juggling act between cost-of-goods vs. cost-of-container vs. shipment size vs. shipping cost vs. margins.  With combined shipping, it's all in the packing and we'll always find the most inexpensive shipping method available.  But there are times when it's impossible to ship economically and we'll always let you know before paying.  The shipping for all items sold by NYCfigs will combine automatically with all other items purchased from NYCfigs.  Items that ship free can't be discounted.  In the rare instance of excess shipping charges, NYCfigs will refund after the invoice is paid.  This ensures your items are received in a timely manner.
