About the auction item:
For sale is a well-rooted combo tree in a 4"x9" pot. The main branch and root stock is I-258 while the graft is Green Michurinska. I did this graft because these two varieties have good contrast in flavor, color, fruit size, shape, etc. It's a chip-n-bud graft and the tree was rooted in late December. So, the graft has completely healed. The two varieties on the same tree should look interesting once established. It has been exposed to direct sunlight and also started adapting outside temperature and humidity since the week of April 22.
I-258 is one of the cornerstone figs in my collection (along with Smith, Bourjasotte Grise, and RdB). The flavor is similar to Black Madeira but ripens much earlier. It's also known for producing brebas (all 100+ grams). It is worthy of having multiple trees. Green Michurinsak is a nice Adriatic fig that ripens early. It's also a beautiful fig.
