Thanks so much, Jan
3 cuttings of an old Florida native seedling tree. It is seen in a 1940’s pic and it’s a grown tree even back then. I have named this variety Sweet Delicious because it’s the best sweet berry I’ve ever had. I am a huge mulberry tree collector in central Florida. I have about 50 varieties. I found this tree last spring and it was loaded with fat good sized delicious berries. I would say a little over an inch long. It is a very old seedling tree. A Florida native Morus Rubra hybrid with natural nematode resistance. This tree is in a pic from 1940’s and it was a mature tree even back then. The berries were the best I’ve ever had, super sweet with a little tart. The sweetest mulberry of any I’ve ever had other than the Pakistani varieties. I thought maybe I was just imagining that the tree was so incredibly delicious so I took my cousin and 14yo grandson back with me a few weeks later and we all felt the same way sooo delicious my grandson climbed all in the branches eating the delicious berries. All 3 of us thought they were the best. Since this time I’ve had 2 others also confirm the same. I named this old Florida seedling “Sweet Delicious. I will only have these cuttings available a short time. I can do custom orders too.
