Rigato del Salento PB

Rigato del Salento PB fig tree grown from cutting.  Grown in coco coir with mycorrhiza inoculant in a 4 x 9 treepot. This is the Paolo Belloni version I obtained from Harvey from Figaholics a few years ago. The cutting was taken this past winter and has been acclimated to being outside for over a couple months.

Rigato Del Salento PB is a variegated fig and so both the stem and figs have stripes. This variety takes a very long time to ripen for me. I get some just before the frost and have lost a lot. They do seem to be ripening sooner as the tree matures, but here in my garden the figs are very late to ripen. The figs a very beautiful and so I don’t mind seeing them hang around.
