Fico Secco Piacentino rooted cutting

Greetings !!!

Up for auction is this rooted cutting of Fico Secco Piacentino also known as Moro di Caneva.  It originated from the Poalo Belloni in Italy.  It's a small to medium dark fig with an elongated neck.  It has some noteworthy characteristics.   It's super rain resistant.   The long neck allows for easy harvesting.  And the figs will dry on the tree turning into sweet "fig raisins"   This is proving to be a really nice fig for northern growers who struggle with rain late in the season.. 

I have previously listed this one as Fico Greco, but I’ve been notified by a well respected collector that this fig is most likely Fico Secco Piacentino also known as Moro Di Caneva.   It seems after more research that it does indeed look like Fico Secco Piacentino/Moro di Caneva.   It appears that this one also goes by several other names such as: Fico Secco, Moro di Caneva, Moro da Caneva, Fico Moro, Nerino, & Szivarfuge.  Talk about confusing!  I've changed the photo and listing to Fico Secco Piacentino and ask that if you've purchased this one from me in the past as Greco, that you consider re-naming it or at least recognize these all as synonyms.  I'm selling Moro di Caneva from Harvey also, but keeping the sources separate by keeping that name on rooted cutting from that source as Moro di Caneva.

You will receive the exact plant that is photographed.  This one is grown in a 4"x 9" Stuewe & Sons Tree-pot along with a professional growing mix.   These pots make shipping and growing cuttings a breeze and are easy to transplant.   It should have a very nice root system and should rebound from transplanting easily.  Once transplanted, I think it’s always a good idea to place the newly planted tree in a shadier location for a week just to make sure it can recover adequately in its new environment.   This is especially true when replanting in a southern location or when the temperatures are above 80.   The Heat and sun intensity can be quite different in Texas for example compared to Michigan.

My growing operation has been inspected by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.  I'm licensed to ship to ALL US states.  However, I will not ship to Hawaii, Alaska, or Puerto Rico simply due to the distance and cost associated with this.  In my opinion, sellers that ship plants with the comments "buyers are responsible for knowing their states laws on importing live plants." or "buyer assumes all responsibility for confiscated plants" do so irresponsibly.  Selling and receiving plants without a proper inspection should be avoided. 

I will ship Tuesday-Friday purchases on Saturday and Saturday-Monday purchases on Monday/Tuesday (in case of a holiday, this may change slightly).  The faster your invoice is paid, the faster I can get your plants out.   Please make sure your Figbid and Paypal shipping address is current and accurate.  Please be able to receive your plant after completion of the auction.   Holding plants becomes very confusing and time consuming for me.   I can do this if absolutely necessary, but I will need to add a $15 charge to the invoice for the extra care involved.  Combined shipping is available automatically upon invoice with multiple auctions being won or purchased through FigBid within the same week.  Figbid combines these automatically, so it's best to wait and pay after all of the auctions you're bidding on for that week are complete, otherwise you will be charged the full shipping charge with each invoice.  I usually prefer USPS, but boxes over 22" cost quite a bit more to ship.  I will also gladly use UPS if you desire, but I must know this as soon as the invoice is paid.  I reserve the right to use UPS if plants go over the 22" mark.   Please reach out to me beforehand if there is an issue with that.  Again, I STRONGLY suggest using Route insurance: Click here to read about it!!!!.
