New Orleans Banana Fig

Said to be found growing alone in the lonely bayou is the New Orleans Banana Fig. I initially got my cuttings from Fig Pig in Louisiana four or five years ago. I was surprised to find that my potted tree would ripen figs here in Zone 5, but it does. Like anyone, I am always skeptical when someone says "tastes like _______". but the figs are sweet and indeed have a banana like flavor.They are yellow/green with a brown inards. They ripen late in the season here in Iowa (when the highs are in low 60's). I'd be interested in seeing what this fig does with a longer/hotter growing season.
